A CV is sensitive. We treat it that way.
This is the plain-English version, and it is the accurate one.
What we store
On our server we store your Google account email and display name, login count, and how many generations you have used. Your CV drafts stay in this browser. We do not store finished PDFs or ask for unrelated personal information.
Where CV drafts live
Draft projects are saved in this browser's local storage. Uploaded PDF, Word, OpenDocument, RTF, text and image files are read in the browser and the original files are not kept on our server. Restore points and exact exported PDFs are also saved in this browser, scoped to your account. Clearing browser storage removes drafts, restore points and saved exports.
How the writing assistant uses your text
CV Foundry can run a no-cost local evidence check without sending the draft to OpenAI. When OpenAI processing is enabled and you explicitly import a document or request analysis, the relevant extracted CV text and target brief are sent to the OpenAI API. CV Foundry requests store:false and does not keep the response as a server-side project record. Guided entry and local editing do not send text for AI processing until you press the analysis button.
Direct downloads
Your approved CV facts are processed on our server to generate previews and final PDFs for direct download. The server does not retain the CV text or PDF files. We do not email CV files and we send no marketing email.
Your generation allowance
We retain non-reversible export fingerprints and record how many generations your account has used so the three-generation limit can be enforced reliably. We also keep a daily AI-request count to provide a free public service without allowing automated abuse. These counters are tied to your Google sign-in and cannot be reset by signing out or clearing your browser.
Deleting your data
You can delete any project from your dashboard to remove that local browser draft. Use Remove saved files in export history to delete a locally saved PDF pair. Deleting a project also removes its restore points; saved exports are separate. To remove your login record and generation counter entirely, contact Karan's Lab and we will delete the account record.
